Getting here

The easiest way to reach Stadlandet is by car. The drive is scenic, and the final stretch along the coast is part of the trip.

From Ålesund

Approx. 2.5 hours by car and ferry (Koparnes–Årvik). The ferry takes about 20 minutes and runs regularly. Check Fjord1 for the latest timetable.

From Bergen

Approx. 5 hours by car. Follow E39 north and enjoy the fjords along the way.

From Oslo

Approx. 7.5 hours by car, or fly to Ålesund (Vigra) and drive from there. There is also a Vy bus from Oslo to Nordfjordeid.

By plane

The nearest airport is Ålesund Airport Vigra (about 2.5 hours by car). You can also fly to Bergen Flesland (about 5 hours by car).

Carpooling

If several of you are traveling from the Oslo area, it makes sense to share rides. Contact the toastmaster or the bridesmaids/groomsmen if you want to coordinate.

Parking

There is plenty of free parking at the venue.

Weather and what to pack

May on the west coast can change quickly. Bring a wind- and waterproof jacket, comfortable shoes, and layers.

Experiences

Experience Stad

If you have time to look around, here are a few places we like.

waves

Hoddevika

Hoddevika is one of the best-known beaches on Stadlandet. You get open sea, white sand, and plenty of space for a quiet walk or a surf stop. It is also a good place for photos, although the wind often sets the pace.

landscape

Myresanden

Myresanden is wide, calm, and easy to use as a short outing. It works just as well for a slow morning walk as for a break in the sand. The beach is bright and open, with a clear view toward the sea.

hiking

Revjehornet

Revjehornet is a short hike for anyone who wants a good view without spending the whole day outside. The round trip takes about 2–3 hours and goes through varied terrain. At the top, you get a wide view of the coast and Stadlandet. Bring good shoes and water.
